What you’re agreeing to.
These are the terms you accept when you reserve a seat at a Lone Star Pickleball camp. The full participant release and liability waiver is a separate, in-person document you sign before stepping on the court on camp day. This page covers what you should know at the time of booking.
What pickleball involves
Pickleball is a fast-paced athletic activity. Like any sport, it carries inherent physical risks. By reserving a seat, you confirm you understand and accept these risks as part of the sport.
- Falls, slips, and trips on the court surface
- Impact from the ball, paddle, other players, or court equipment
- Eye injury (ball impact is the most common pickleball injury, eyewear strongly recommended)
- Muscle strains, sprains, joint injuries, and bruises
- Ankle, knee, back, shoulder, and wrist injuries from sudden movement or change of direction
- Heat-related illness, dehydration, and exhaustion
- Aggravation of pre-existing medical conditions
- Serious injury, including (rarely) injuries requiring medical treatment or hospitalization
What you confirm by reserving
By completing your reservation, you confirm that:
- You are 18 years of age or older.
- You are physically fit and able to participate in four hours of structured pickleball drills and live play.
- You will disclose any injuries, medical conditions, allergies, medications, or physical limitations to your coach in advance, either through the post-purchase intake form or directly by email.
- You will sign Lone Star Pickleball’s full participant release, assumption of risk, indemnification, and photo/video release on camp day before play begins. Failure to sign means you cannot participate, and your payment becomes credit-forward only.
- You assume responsibility for your own equipment, including appropriate court shoes (no street shoes on indoor courts) and protective eyewear if you choose to wear it.
Photo and video at camp
Lone Star Pickleball photographs and films camp sessions for marketing, social media, instructional use, and internal review. By attending, you agree that your image, likeness, and voice may be captured and used by Lone Star Pickleball and its partners without further compensation. The complete photo and video release is part of the in-person waiver you sign on camp day.
If you prefer not to be filmed or photographed, tell your coach when you arrive and we will keep cameras off you.
Cancellation and credit policy
- More than 15 days before camp: full transfer to a future Lone Star camp, or a 90% refund.
- Between 8 and 14 days before camp: half refund, or full transfer.
- 7 days or fewer before camp: transfer only. Credit does not expire.
- If we cancel for weather, low attendance, or any reason on our end: full refund or full credit, your call.
The Lone Star Promise
If you complete the camp and do not receive your personalized written improvement plan within 7 days of camp day, your next Lone Star camp is on us. No additional payment required.
The full legal waiver
The complete Texas-compliant Release of Liability, Assumption of Risk, Indemnification, Medical Authorization, and Photo and Video Release is a separate document you sign in person at camp before play begins. That document is the binding legal release between you and Lone Star Pickleball.
This page is your acknowledgment, at the time of booking, that you understand the risks of participating and agree to sign the full waiver on camp day.
